The Importance of Being Present: Webinar on the importance of relationships in youth mentoring

Quality relationships characterized by warmth are at the heart of youth mentoring purposes and processes. Research has shown that young people tend to have better coping and outcomes where they perceive that their mentor shares similar interests, is authentic, trustworthy, honest, shows empathy, and is there for me. In this webinar, we draw on a range of theoretical perspectives and our research findings to reflect on mentor-mentee relationships with a view to better understanding their core components and revaluing the basics of youth mentoring.
